Hello all, I have a dust mite allergy and can not decide which is better to buy? a Duvet which can only be washed at 40 which is treated to protect against dust mites or a duvet which can be washed at 60 but is not protected against dust mites? I can not find a duvet which can be washed at 60 and is also protected against dust mites.
Also does it matter if you do not wash clothes at 60 but put them in the drier and the drier dries clothes at 60 or higher?

Your best bet will be to get a silk duvet.  They are hypoallergenic and dust mites can't grow in them. They don't need washing in the same way either, just airing on the line from time to time.

The downside is that they are very expensive to buy compared to normal duvets.  Gulp and pay the price anyway.  They are worth it.

I believe wool duvets are also dust mite resistant. We find ours wonderful, with a decent weight to them too. Also expensive mind, but worth every penny IMHO.
