Instagram won't refresh - not sure why

I managed to download Instagram onto a Kindle and was starting to explore how to use it (I didn't have a very good smartphone and now don't have one at all as I dropped it in a puddle and it completely stopped working)
After a couple of weeks Instagram suddenly stopped working and I don't know why.
I can't find any way to contact Instagram to ask.
Does anyone know why Instagram will not refresh, and what i can do to restore it?

Uninstall the app and reinstall.

I have tried that a couple of times and it makes no difference.
Still get  "couldn't refresh feed"

I id try this resource but none of the suggestions worked - even their instruction to contact Instagram Help only resulted in
