EDF new rates for 2022
EDF quotes: "Energy prices are going up on April 1st 2022" and "We'll be putting up our prices in line with the cap."
But look more closely! The standing charge per day for electricity is rising from 23.85p to 44.84p! That can't be part of the Ofgem price cap rise, can it?
Go back to ofgem.gov.uk: "From 1 April the equivalent per unit level of the price cap to the nearest pence for a typical customer paying by direct debit will be 28p per kWh for electricity customers and 7p per kWh for gas customers". EDF will take 35.28p per kWh of electricity and 7.282p per kWh of gas.
They're taking the mickey, aren't they?
