Iboost not diverting all solar

Hello
I’ve seen a few other iboost posts but can’t see this issue having been discussed- my iboost doesn’t seem to divert all the solar power generated, though I know it is diverting some as the display show “heating by solar” and the kw.

I have a zappi charger and app that shows my solar generation and exporting to the grid. Whenever the iboost comes on it only sends a portion to the immersion heater, around 60%. The app shows the rest being exported to the grid. Generation is below 3kw so below what the immersion can take.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have a ct clamp on the iBoost configured with the zappi? The zappi manual describes how to do it. See 3rd party water heaters.

No, but I don’t need to prioritise one over the other which is what I think the manual describes that as the solution for. It’s more that I can see how much is being generated and it should all be going into the immersion heater; but it’s not, some is going back to the grid.0

Sounds like your ct clamp isn't reading your grid supply correctly. Was the zappi installed after the iboost? I had to have my clamp moved since the zappi supply was installed in the meter box bypassing the original location. I don't have an iBoost but something similar. If the zappi was a later install, did the iBoost work correctly before?

Do you get the "water tank hot" message at all? How much do you send to the tank in a day? typically my iboost sends 4 to 5 kwh per day.
Rather than rely on software i just look at what i am generating and what gets sent to the tank, i have an iboost buddy which gives more info like net values of export to grid and export to hot water tank.
It shows that iboost uses a buffer of around 100/200 kwh that it does not send.1 -
I have a similar issue with my Solic... but the export is only about 100 w so not worth getting too excited about. The CT clamp had to be moved as it did not seem to get on with the battery clamp in close proximity3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch (£3.36 /W).

Thanks all
Now the sun is out properly I am getting better readings, 2mw or so into the tank and still only 3-400 watts going to the grid, so it must just be the 200w buffer and maybe the myenergi software to updating immediately. Readings on the inverter and iboost displays themselves are more accurate than through the app so looks like it’s all working properly
