Just had to buy the hubby a temporary phone (as he dropped his contract one in the sea!!!!) and only wanted a cheap one. Found an LG C1200 for 39.95 in Argos, code no 547/9320 which had been reduced from 70.00 (I think). When we loaded the card with 15pound it sent a text saying he was entitled to 1000 free texts that would be applied within 5 days. Didn't think that was too bad for a cheap fone, atho its probably more of a girls fone - has a mirror on the front 
which he's not too impressed about but should of been more careful shouldn't he!!
