Paypal looks to have ruined my x-mas!
Brought a Wii on ebay and got a good deal, so i pay the seller using th elinks through ebay and pay by paypal.I look afterwards and notice tits pending payment on ebay and marked as sent on paypal and unclaimed by seller!so i inform seller of this, and ask if he a new email etc. No response for a while so i email another 3 times before i get a response which says i see by your feedback uve had problems with paypal lately ( nothing to do with this, was chaging my accounts over and couldnt pay for an item) so at this point he prob thought i was gunna be a non payee. so i explain to him and tell him to check. He eventually replies saying hes been in contact and heis ebay email is registered as his old 1 (what i thought!) and says he cant reply now till tonight but i asked him if he could log onto his old email to reject or accept the payment.
On Paypal it says i wont get the money back for 30 days!!how can i now pay for the wii when ive just spent all tht money in the 1st place thats unclaimed!! this was the last presant i was buying and making me skint to the bone so i can afford to pay agin, which is going to leave one sad kid at xmas!is there any way i can get the payment back!? as i did read there should be a cancel button in the action column on payapl, but it aint...what a f*ckin joke paypal is! dont know why i bother time and again with paypal and ebay!!

Ask the seller to log into there old account or new account whatever it is and they can reject the payment and it will come back to you.0

If the paypal money went to an account capable of being valid then it cannot be cancelled by you, only the seller can cancel it.
If the seller cannot log in to reject the payment then it will bounce back after 30 days. meanwhile though the seller can accept the payment at any time during those 30 days so be careful about just assuming money will definitely come back.
All you can do is get the sellers details and call them, it is sometimes easier to sort things like this out by talking rather than relying on email.
I do have a slight concern here though, the seller says payment went to an old account, that rather suggests a seller that does not sell a lot, or maybe has suddenly started to sell after a break..not someone possibly to risk a lot of money on. Does the seller check out OK, is there a very good history of high priced sales and a high positive feedback as a seller? Also, do they show full paypal protection of £500?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Although I cant access Ebay (from work) it sounds as if both the OP has ropey feedback and the item was a Too good to be true item.
Alarm bells would be ringing nice and loud for me!!0 -

ropey feedback, only 2 negatives out 36 and that was because i was in the process of whitching my banks!
well the seller has given me his mobile number which has made me believe him more. But i have also noticed when i looked at my bank statement when i made the payment to him it was exchanged into luxembourg money!!?0 -
I wasn't trying to have a dig, I said I couldn't access ebay so could only go on the comment in the quoted thread.
good luck with it though0 -

3 negs surely, plus a neutral. Sorry but that is appalling, it has been a long while since I have seen someone with that sort of feedback, regardless of excuses, still using ebay. Personally I would not have accepted your bid if I were the selelr and I spotted your bid before auction ended.
Anyway, that's not the question here...I am concerned that your seller hasn't sold anything since the middle of 2006...
I can see no easy way out of this to be honest.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Is it really that bad!? haha.
well to be honest most ebayers i come across now have less than 20 feedback or so most the time alot less

Ask the seller to add the email address you sent payment to to his new paypal account and that way he can accept the payment from you or cancel it.0

Hi I would phone paypal directly and ask them to reverse the payment. If it is over the 7 days for delivery then state you are within your right to have the transaction cancelled as the seller has not accepted the payment and you would like it reversed. You may also want to point out to paypal that the seller states he is in the UK but the currency was converted to euros so can they clarify if this seller is UK or EU. I wouldnt hang around for the seller to sort it out..........depending on the no of days that has passed I would rather have the money returned. WII or no WII!0
