Because it's likely the job you did wasn't worth that much in salary, or the company you worked for sold goods too high and made a lot of greedy profit...MattMattMattUK said:
In many years I am a higher rate taxpayer, in the others I am an additional rate taxpayer, why should I pay that much tax to support people like you?Mnj1974 said:Does anyone else agree with me that this seems very unfair? It equates to just over £1000 of my council tax bill for 2022/23. Why should I pay for something that I will never use? Lets campaign for this to be removed from the bills of childless households!!!!
That's why the rich should pay more to support the poor.0 -
Personally, I think I benefit from not living surrounded by uncared for children in need. I benefit from other people being skilled and educated...

Perhaps a little off topic, and maybe I'll get pelted for this...
But I do feel there should be a reduction for people who live in rural locations and don't have the direct benefits of the tangible services those in towns and cities get.

Are you also willing to pay much more for the services you do use which cost much more to cover spread out low density areas?Tunstallstoven said:Perhaps a little off topic, and maybe I'll get pelted for this...

I'd still like to hear what services you're referring to. And I don't mean it in a snide way; perhaps there really are things I overlook...0

You pay for things to make the country a better place to live. Kids can either grow up to become thieves/drug users or perhaps happy productive members of society.Mnj1974 said:Does anyone else agree with me that this seems very unfair?
