Solar batteries

Options
Hoping for some advice.
We recently had some solar panels installed with 2 uhome lfp 2400 batteries.
We have ordered more batteries , but just wanted to know if we can put the batteries on their back on the floor. Front of the batteries facing the ceiling, as this would be more convenient for us.
Love having solar panels.

It might interfere with the cooling. Have you looked at the instruction/installation manual?

I've certainly seen Pylontech installed on-end. If I was doing it I'd use some metal strip (or a length of Unistrut) under the rack-mount ears to hold them all together and make sure there was no risk of toppling.
Here's a picture from the internet of two batteries installed vertically (in this case, on a wall bracket):

    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.

  • My installer rested the Uhome batteries on there end just as you described - no brackets. They've been working fine for 18 months.

  • Hi, looking for some advise on getting a battery to add on to our solar panels that we installed in 2016, but having no luck with online enquires, can anyone recommend a battery brand / installer.  We live in Shropshire.  Think we're looking for at least an 8kWh battery.

I came across this while looking for a Bluetti AC200 Max. The Bluetti was at a staggeringly good price and so are these Pylontechs. 3 for £599!

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is but has anyone come across the seller,  Bordes, before?

The company address 5 Vine Street Salford is a slightly grotty detached house that doesn't really look like business premises.

Looked at "all products" on the site, includes some very expensive plates/bowls/mugs/glasses and a few pairs of ankle boots........very strange collection of items

On what basis do you recommend the Libbi?
While it's likely to be a decent piece of equipment, especially if you have other Myenergi products, the pricing is so high that it's unlikely to be a good investment even for the most extreme use cases.

    5 primary reasons:

    1. Specs of the K-Star are top tier compared to the popular options like Givenergy (which has 3.6kW charge/ discharge capability as an example)
    2. Integration w/ their EV Charger (Zappi) and Diverter (Eddi) via their app is Tesla rivaling.
    3. Warranty support from MyEnergi has always been top tier. (You only need to try to get technical support from a company like Growatt to understand just how precious this is)
    4. Customer feedback of this British company has remained consistently excellent.
    5. Not in this instance, but the built in inverter can be a cost saving vs. a seperate purchase when buying the system new

Bonus: Currently, all Libbi installers must be trained by Myenegi. Said another way, you cannot install one unless you are trained by the manufacturer. This is invaluable when you factor in the cowboy installer outfits currently plaguing the UK.

I believe any battery is a terrible investment (vs. purchasing Ripple Energy and selling excess via. Outgoing Agile), provided you do not own a heat pump and/or EV. That said, if you're going to get one, might as well get one that performs as expected. with the right treatment from the manufacturer.
