Major panic, have just swallowed my crown! Now a gorgeous gap at the front!! Obviously need a new one. I'm an OAP, not currently registered with an NHS dentist and terrified as to what the costs will be. Can anyone help me and point me in the right direction re finding a dentist and what the charges will be?
Thank you xx

Get a sieve and find it!
I've recemented 3 in my career that have made the full journey. Takes between a day and 3-4 days to reappear depending on your system.Do your best to clean it up, and dentist can pop it through their sterilisation protocols.(That is assuming there is nothing wrong with either the bit of tooth it sticks onto, or the crown has not broken - but if both are ok, a recementing fee is a lot less than remaking)How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.7 -
Agree with toothsmith, for something that expensive I'd be looking for it! Mask, gloves and a bowl of water to throw it in.
Have a look online and get calling the dentist's, there are some who are taking on NHS patients. Prices are online as it's fixed banding for the treatments allowed on the NHS.
Even private dentists can confirm prices for check ups and treatment, some have it online.
