Marriage Tax allowance - and charitable donations

in Cutting tax
My wife has transferred 10% of her personal allowance to me.
To take advantage, I know that I have to keep my income, dividends, interest etc below £50,270 (I'm in England). [ps. Thanks for advice previously Dazed_and_Confused]
My question relates to charitable giving. Am I right in thinking that I can subtract charitable giving before testing against the £50,270?
Thanks!

If it's paid under the Gift Aid scheme then that increases the basic rate band element of the £50,270.
So £300 (gross) donated would mean a basic rate band of £38,000. Plus Personal Allowance of £12,570 = £50,570 before higher rate tax would be charged.1 -
Fab! Thank you.1
