Quick Quid redress payment problem

I'm hoping for advice or ideas as I’m at the end of my tether!
I’m expecting a substantial redress payment from the administrators of Quick Quid at the end of this month (this claim has already been accepted )
As of now they are refusing to pay my redress into my Turkish bank account. They will only pay to a UK account!
I asked them to credit payment to my daughters UK bank account, but they refused as my name is not on her account ( even though I said I was happy to give them authorization to do so)
I live permanently in Turkey, therefore do not have a UK bank.
Neither do Turkish banks accept UK cheques, but STILL this is the only option they will consider.
I have explained to them that cheque is useless here but they refuse to consider a bank transfer (even though they have had my foreign account details for almost two years!)
By refusing payment to my bank they are, in affect, discriminating against people in my position who have moved out of the uk.
I received a redress payment from PaydayUK to my foreign account last year with no problems at all! So why are the QQ administrators refusing to do exactly the same?
Can anyone tell me what steps I can take to ensure I receive my redress? I’ve tried complaining but have got nowhere! I’m becoming desperate now!

I see your point, but I have offered to pay any additional costs incurred. The administrators are a global company so I can’t believe they done have the facility to make payments abroad. It’s a very simple process and only costs companies around 12p additional costs. Also, I thought it was the role of the administrators to ensure redress payments were distributed. I will be receiving iro £3,500 so not a small amount.
I also can’t understand why they won’t pay to my daughters account if I am prepared to give them authorization. After all it isn’t their money. It’s what I’m entitled to.0 -
You’ve asked. They’ve said no. That’s it.Doesn’t matter if you think it’s ‘simple’ for them.
Inconvenient as it is, either you need to open a UK bank account, or get them to send you a cheque.Although your current Turkish bank doesn’t accept UK cheques, you might be able to find a Turkish bank that does, then you can open an account there.2 -
Grant Thornton are a global company and one of the largest financial companies in the world. It’s head office is in the USA but has countless offices in many countries. Are you telling me that a bank transfer is not a ‘simple’ process for them??This situation is not “inconvenient “ for me, as you seem to believe - it is impossible! This is why I wrote this post, hoping for sound advice as to whether or not administrators had a legal obligation to pay all creditors regardless of where they live. Your ‘take it or leave it’ attitude really isn’t helpful to me.Despite the fact that I only moved abroad 3 years ago, a non resident (which I now am) is not allowed to open a UK bank account without proof of residency, electric bills, mortgage/ rent proof, etc, etc.I said, Turkish banks do NOT accept UK cheques. Very few banks outside of the UK will accept them as the monitory systems are not linked. The sum of money I an talking about is iro £3,500 so not a paltry amount. This is money that is legally owing to me, so forgive me for trying to receive what is rightfully mine.
And before you add to your unhelpful answer and tell me it was my choice to move abroad, I can tell you I moved here to help my daughter raise her children after her husband was killed in a road traffic accident. I really don’t think I should be penalized for that0 -

I appreciate that @impoverishedtraveller's advice may not be what you want to hear but it is factual and has attempted to offer some alternatives. It is a bit harsh to label that unhelpful but, even if we all agreed with you, the situation does not change because we are not setting the policies - the administrators are. We accept that you are entitled to the compensation but you do not have a financial facility that can receive the payment.4 -
My attitude isn’t ‘a take it or leave it one’ - simply suggesting a pragmatic response to the circumstances you find yourself in.
GT have said they can’t do what you want, so that’s that - as to a legal requirement to offer you payment that suits your needs, the answer is probably not… but to get a definitive statement you’ll need to speak to a solicitor.
Does your bank in Turkey have any UK branches?
TurkishBank has a couple here and they might be able to assist if your daughter presented them with a cheque.
If you don’t have an account with TurkishBank, maybe you can set one up.0 -

A helpful answer is one that provides accurate advice - which is what you've had. Someone agreeing with you and incorrectly saying that you can *make* QQ pay to a foreign bank account would not be helpful as it would be wrong.4 -
Actually I’ve just had an email from the CEOs secretary apologizing for the service I’ve received from the caseworkers concerned. She informed me that my case should have been escalated to make exceptions and she attached a coded secure message box for me to send my bank details. All I ever wanted was for someone knowledgeable on this group to tell me if Administrators had an obligation to pay creditors abroad. While all I got were replies more or less telling me to give up and take their word that it couldn’t be done!0

Has been delayed by a month now until end of april 2022

It can't be right that they can't pay someone abroad as that seems pretty normal for creditors in an English insolvency. Complain to the Insolvency Practioner if you dont get this sorted.0
