If the tomatoes are not chopped , whizz them up with the stick blender . Fry some onion and garlic and then add herbs(mixed or oregano or basil) and the tuna and heat through then pile on top of your pasta/spaghetti! HTH;)
Basically, that's what I do, except I also use a tin of anchovy fillets in oil. In true MSE style, I use the fishy oil to fry the onion & garlic. and put a drop in the pasta water to stop it sticking. Chop up the anchovies and add at the same time as the tomatoes. They disappear and make the thing a bit more fishy.
If the tomatoes aren't ready chopped, drain off the liquid into the pan and chop them up in the tin. This is so much easier than chasing the slippery little b*gg*ers around the pan!
However, an Italian would never "bring the sauce to the pasta" by plonking it on top of it. They "bring the pasta to the sauce" by putting the drained pasta into the sauce, gently mixing and then serving together.
I use the shell-shaped "conchigle" pasta, just to keep the seafood theme. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -

That's correct. As a true blooded Italian, I can confirm the above - anything else would be blasphemy LOL.
By the way, almost any sauce you use for pasta, you can use it with boiled or baked potatoes instead. Perhaps not strictly Italian, but there is no law that says it has to be. Tuna and/or tomato sauce with boiled potatoes is fine by me.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
