Dental advice needed - tooth infection still there after root canal

How long should it take for the infection to go away after having a root canal?  It's been two weeks and the swelling on my gum is still there, and the pain has started to come back.

These are questions you need to ask the dentist who did it - as all situations are unique, and advice would vary.

In general though, if a root filling is successful , whilst it can take variable times for symptoms to subside, things in general should not feel to be getting worse.

So again - bottom line, contact your own dentist to be seen again.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
