Over 4 months between root canal stage 1 and 2, safe?

Does that amount of time mean the rct could be less successful? I had stage 1 done as an emergency in Dec. Stage 2 was booked for last week but I had to cancel following a tough surgery with my wisdom tooth. I ended up with an abcess and an infection. I am still taking antibiotics for that, but.... my rct tooth is throbbing to hell and back.
Im guessing the infection from one has moved to the other, or the original infection back in Dec was still there and has flared up from the inflammation of the surgery?
My NHS dentist cant do the stage 2 until May now and my surgeon can only advise on the surgery site.
For what it's worth the lead up to the wisdom tooth surgery saw me take 4 lots of antibiotics. I'm now on my second lot post surgery.
The rct tooth is hurting more than the extraction site.
