You also have to factor in American Express regular special offers, such as a few months ago £10 refund when spending £30 at Esso and in particular Shop Small.1

I have a Barclaycard (Visa). If I go on the Barclaycard web site, it doesn't let me apply for an Avios card. If I try to use the phone app to switch from Visa to Avios card, doesn't let me. Un-impressed !!

Un-impressed !!It means you're not eligible to change to a different card if it won't let you do it via the app, BarclayCard website says this about changing to the Avios one.I guess you could always give them a call and see if they can change your card manually to the Avios one.

I got the card with a large credit limit, swiftly followed by a 60 day closure notice! Quite a few people in the same boat. Card is duly being given some welly.0
