Thin Credit File on Joint Mortgage

Hi all,

I am applying for a joint mortgage with my partner. We are using H2B and LVT would be 55%.
The household income is very good and the experian file shows that both of our scores are excellent (I am aware that this is irrelevant). However, the issue is, my partner has been using Credit Card since 2-3 years and that credit history has been built quite steadily. In my case, I do not use credit card however I do have an phone contract and other current accounts linked to my file. None of us are on Electoral (I was previously but not on my current address).

Both of us have any CCJS, defaults and other negative items on our files.

Will my thin credit file (because no credit card) make huge difference on our application? Because everything else is quite perfect. Thanks

  • Do you mean you have no CCJS or defaults?

Your biggest stumbling block is not being on the electoral roll - I would get this sorted asap.

    Hi @d@danlewi2 ,

none of us have any CCJS or defaults , sorry for the typo.

I already got it done however this would only be applicable from 1st April. So unsure how to get around this.

    thanks for the help
