It will need to be HMRC.
Did you pay the correct tax in 2020:21?
If not has it been refunded yet by HMRC? Or did you complete a Self Assessment tax return for that tax year?
If you get this tax year (2021:22) sorted quickly the NHS pension people will refund any overpaid tax for 2021:22 with your final pension payment in March/early April.
Can you confirm what tax code is being used against the NHS pension?1 -
ill have to try to find the tax code, would it be on my gov.uk tax records?

My tax code for my NHS pension is BR and for my previous employment for 20-21 its 1248L0

and from april this year my nhs pension tax code will be 223T0

It sounds like HMRC haven't updated things to show the NHS pension is your only PAYE income.
A quick phone call should sort it if you haven't been paid by anyone else (under PAYE) in the current tax year.1
