Highway rights on private land
Hi All
We are the owners of a small strip of land next to our property, this land is currently subject to highways rights.
We are the owners of a small strip of land next to our property, this land is currently subject to highways rights.
The county council have advised that they are considering planting “further trees” on the land (there are already 2 mature trees in situ) and we would like to know whether the council would need our permission to dig at such a depth into the subsoil (which we own) to plant any trees.
The land is only 0.0057 hectares, it runs a length of approx 16 metres adjacent to the house and is therefore relatively slim. We are concerned that further trees would lead to damage to our property in the long term.
Thanks in advance for any advice
