Worrying Advert from Drafty .Com
I have just seen the latest television advert for Drafty.com and they clearly state
A £100 loan over 1 month will cost you £5
Would 'everyone' understand that, as simply as it is conveyed
I would say the majority would understand the actual amount to be paid back is £105 NOT £5
Borderline subliminal advertising?

I'd have thought everyone would understand that, not just the majority. Those that don't are unlikely to be old enough to gain credit.
It's in no way subliminal advertising. That's something entirely different and illegal in the UK.2 -

The meaning is as plain as the nose on your face. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. It is correct, the loan will cost you £5.If you had £100, you would save the £5.It is quite an honest advert in that regard. What you do with the cash will cost £105 not the £100 you pay to the retailer, but Drafty don't know what you intend on doing with the cash. It's the items bought on credit that don't state the total you actually pay that are worse. The film Shallow Grave does skim over the cost not being the same as the price you pay for things.May you find your sister soon Helli.

Please avoid Drafty at all costs if you can, they will drive you into debt with their immense interest rate of 96% and have driven my life into depression and misery at the hopelessness of never being able to pay this predatory debt back. If you need financial help, or have mental health issues, they will not help you appropriately and have all but ruined my life. There are far better, safer, more competent companies that care for their customers who uphold their equality act commitments and don't rob them with ridiculous interest rates. Worse company I have ever known.-2
