Hi all, wondering if anyone has been and can recommend a clinic in Spain for a CT scan? My sis has previously had cancer and is poorly now but her GP refuses to refer her for a scan, thinking be easier just to go and get it there, I know people do it but would love to hear if anyone has any experience of this? tia

Has the reason for GP declining a referral been explained? 
Is the decision based on symptoms and differences in opinion regarding diagnosis?
Is her previous cancer and the CT radiation exposure a factor?

Not heard of Spain in particular but just remember that some countries it is possible to have just imaging/scans but you may need to pay separately for a consultation with a specialist to interpret the results.

As said above, CT scans have a radiation dosage. Also - flying has a radiation dosage! 

When you're 5 miles up in the air, radiation from sunlight has 5 miles less atmosphere filtering it out! So dosage is greater. Radiation has a small, but finite risk of causing cancer! 

Just because your sister is poorly, this 'poorly' has to be balanced out against the risk of irradiating her more. Could the poorly be a reoccurrence of the cancer, or a more innocent cause? Be guided by the pros. 

If you doubt that particular pro, a paid for scan in this country would be less risky than one in another country that involved air travel!
