What does ISC stand for on a bank statement receipt?

Options
I have power of Attorney for my mum and I'm completing her tax return.
She has income from pensions, and one of them is just listed as ISC on the bank statement. I've checked it's not to do with the DWP's ISCS
It might be a receipt from the US.

Can anyone help with this?

From a quick google it could be a number of possible pensions, it could even be an outsourced payroll which doesnt point to the Scheme itself whatsoever, possibly being abroad likely makes it even more difficult to be exact.

Do you perhaps have a rough idea of the types of work you mum did? If spent whole career as a nurse, etc.. might help narrow it down. If it is a large pension ,you may be be able to roughly assume its from one of her longer period employers if you have a rough idea of her career history.

I've also never done so myself, but i would imagine the bank themselves could aid in finding where it came from if you gave them a call?

You may want to post in the banking section as you probably have a bigger audience in there that is used to dealing with bank statements.  Unlike this section which is pensions.  Just in case, it has nothing to do with pensions.

If she has receipts from the US, then the most likely is Information Services Corporation.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Hi ElliLucy, this made me laugh as I am having EXACTLY the same problem with my parent's finances, trying to do their return and seeing this ISC payment on the bank statement... we figured it out eventually - it was the covid relief payments that Trump initiated - but then Biden added to...  at least in my Dad's case... as a US pensioner it seems he was eligible!  Hopefully you got it sorted!
