Found this recent article this evening while searching for comps.

They make it sound so easy!

Ahhh one of these articles again triggering a load of people joining the forum and starting threads like “I’ve entered 100 competitions and won nothing what am I doing wrong?”

now of course we all found our way into comping and I’m all for newbies joining us in our little hobby. But it’s absolutely not an easy way to make money nor is it any kind of guarantee you’ll win anything, we all know that. You have to be prepared to enter for hours and hours a day and come out with nothing but a £5 voucher for a shop you’ll never use hahaha. The newbies will come and most will stop when they realise the rewards are usually few and far between. no doubt most of us have had extended breaks, I know I have. But in my 13 years of comping I’ve had my best month this month. And I’ve gone for months winning nothing and really putting in effort.

I didn’t even have much luck back in the glory days of 2008/2009!

I'm like you - I've come back to it recently too. I think I've just been lucky recently, it's at the expense of my other hobbies too though. It's certainly not a case of going onto a comp and entering and coming off it though. It's sifting through the hundreds of emails each day, reading the T&Cs to see if you're even eligible, googling answers to questions, trying to avoid receiving hundreds of spam calls every day, trying to spot and avoid scams etc. This stuff is never mentioned though!
