Xbox help

My teenager wants an Xbox. He’s always been ok with PS4 but all his friends are Xbox so we are thinking of changing over.

I am so confused as I know nothing.. is a series s worth buying? I know it’s discless so do the games ever go on sale online?

Would we be better putting money towards it and getting Xbox x?

He does play COD/fighting type games so am thinking what’s gonna run them best

thanks

    Ok so

    Series S

    Pros:
    Light weight
    Super Fast SSD
    Nice looking
    1080P 120FPS (Some games)
    4K Streaming

    Cons:
    No Disc Drive
    Super small storage
    No 4K Gaming

    Series X

    Pros:
    1TB Storage
    4K 120 FPS
    4K Streaming
    Disc Drive
    8K (Future Update)
    Super Fast SSD

    Cons:
    Can't find any

So you can get games on sale in the Xbox Store

if he is gonna play games like Call of Duty Fortnight Battlefield Rainbow Six Extraction then Series X is the way to go as are big in size,

Also Game pass ultimate which is about £120 a year maybe less if on sale or £10.99 a month and comes with loads of games to download

Tbh, given the age we're talking here, I'd say go for the S and combo it with Game Pass. Unless your kid is SUPER into graphical fidelity, the saving you'll make is totally worth it. The X is only really worth it if you plan on buying game discs (instead of digital downloads), have a bunch of Xbox One game discs you might want to replay one day or are very much a 'frame rate/ray tracing' sort of person.
