We used to use the transparent plastic type. I had a large , medium and small. IF you have 2 the same for each size, it goes much quicker. I would make a 'russian doll effect' by putting a small chick or other toy or some sweets in the smallest, then wrap in cling film, then the next egg, wrap and the large one on the outside. 1 KG of nice choc will do 4 of each size. It works out very cheaply compared with buying ready made. Supermarket own brand choc works well but baking chocolate isnt quite as authentic tasting.Its me Culpepper LOL couldn't sign in with the old ID so time for a fresh start....1

I particularly like the Russian doll effect you mention, @halfamo. I'm going to try something slightly similar - I'll aim to make a bunch of handmade small eggs to seal inside the larger handmade egg.1 -

I used a very small amount of coconut oil to lubricate and this worked well. The chocolate was well tempered and came out of the moulds well, apart from the edges which despite best attempts were too thin and fragile. So whilst we did get a nice egg out of it, it was not aesthetically perfect. It didn't affect the taste though, and 800g of chocolate (minus a few squares that never quite made it into the broiler) was demolished by 5 adults and one little girl over the course of the weekend.
I used inexpensive chocolate from Aldi and gave it a bit of bite with toasted rice crispies.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
