Like a newborn lion cub being held aloft over Pride Rock for all the animals to see, the latest Money Tips email has arrived into the world.

We suggest reading the whole lot when you can. But for now, here are five highlights you might like:

  1. Fourteen MoneySaving tips for couples
Eg, £1,200 tax break for two million couples and free £300 for switching bank

  2. Hidden student loan repayment hike
Watch video: Martin questions the Chancellor about the fact many uni leavers will pay £113/year more from April

  3. Two top credit cards, each with two powerful perks
M&S Bank and Sainsbury's Bank battle for your custom

  4. Base rate savings boost
NS&I raises easy-access rates to 0.5% (but most should seek higher rates - up to 0.73%)

  5. Posh 'zero-plastic' shampoo bar for £4
From Gruum, normally £12. Lasts up to 60 washes

Check Facebook next week for a preview💻

Huge thanks to anyone who checked the MSE Facebook page for the early preview of the email on Tuesday evening. Every week we post a preview in return for feedback. Any bugs or inaccuracies you spot help us to perfect the email before it goes out officially.

Send us your Money Moral Dilemma🤔

You might be a fan of the Money Moral Dilemma, a long-time feature of the email which gets its own Forum thread so you can discuss (here's this week's). If you've got a Money Moral Dilemma of your own you'd like to share, email it to us at mmd@moneysavingexpert.com and it might end up in a future Money Tips email.

  • Hi. Re Barcoded stamps. The simplest solution seems to me to take the old ones to any post office (where they were bought) and exchange them. Why post a valuable amount of stamps which require signed for and insurance which costs? Great if you could get the Post Office/Royal Mail to put that in place Martin.

As the Royal Mail and the Post Office are no longer the same organisation, it seems to me that RM is unlikely to want to pay the PO for handling the exchange of stamps.
