in Cutting tax
Hi,
I believe I'm due a refund on tax for last financial year but according to my online tax account, my tax has still not been calculated (despite them estimating that this would have been done by October 2021). All of the information in terms of monthly earnings, tax paid, is up to date on the Government online portal.
I was made redundant in Sept 20. Up to that point in the financial year was paid £29,896 and had paid income tax of £4590, NI £2542.
I didn't work again during that financial year, had a couple of part-time jobs in May/June and then started back in full-time employment in July 2021.
As I understand it I'm due about £1,100 back in income tax and around £100 in NI, however I've heard nothing from HMRC, there's no information online and there doesn't seem to be any way of contacting them without being told to check online.
I have no experience of claiming tax refunds so unsure if this sort of timescale is normal or whether I should be concerned.

Tax figure looks roughly correct but what makes you think you have overpaid NI?
2020:21 would normally have been reviewed by now but I guess there are sometimes delays.

Thanks - that's exactly what I did, I wasn't aware it was done differently.0
