Middle name not on application

Hi I am remortgaging and due to complete tomorrow however Barclays have contacted to say that my name does not correspond to that on the deeds. So my deed has my middle name on it but when completing the mortgage application my broker didn’t put it on the form as it wasn’t on my ID (passport).
I’m really anxious about what will happen next. Will everything need to start again including credit checks etc? Or can they just accept this?

Well, what did Barclays say, other than telling you your middle name isn't on the application?

I've never heard of it being a problem though, unless there's some other reason to suspect you're not the same person.
  • Initially saying they would have to re issue mortgage offer. Now have said that they can proceed if I give them further ID with my middle name. I have a new birth certificate arriving tomorrow. I’ve also sent a letter from HMRC that has my full name on - waiting to hear back if this is sufficient.
Anyone have any ideas if they are likely to accept this letter?

Should not be a problem adding your middle name.

Do you have ID such as passport, driving licence etc with your full name?

No only my birth certificate- have re- ordered a copy as not sure where it is!
National insurance letter from HMRC has full name on which I’ve submitted so still waiting to  hear if that is enough.

Barclays are still not accepting this. They won’t accept birth certificate either! Waiting to see if letter from HMRC aid good enough. I’ve lived at same address for 16 years and never changed my name. Just must have missed my middle name off when getting passport and driving license. Has anyone any other ideas how this could be resolved?

Just an update - had to get new passport in the end with middle name then mortgage went through the next month. Lesson learned - always put your middle name on everything!!
