  • jem16 : thank you for replying.  On your fathers, is it SP or Sp ? (this is why I'm wondering what Sp actually means)
The abbreviations on dwp are normally SP (not Sp).
It does have dwp, and nino and a ref No.

The whole reference is capital letters so it’s SP for his state pension and AA for his Attendance Allowance.

Perhaps different banks show it differently? That was RBS. I’ll check how my Mum’s shows when I go there at lunchtime and let you know.

Re PC - this should throw some light on what she is receiving.

    https://www.ageuk.org.uk/globalassets/age-uk/documents/factsheets/large-print-factsheets/fs48-lp-pension-credit.pdf

Is it possible that she is receiving help with service charges etc (see above)?

    Re AA

At some point over the next month she should receive  letters from DWP concerning her state pension and her Attendance Allowance.

Is it at all possible that somebody typed Sp when they meant SP?
  • It could be "Sp" due to how that particular bank's software handles the formatting of the payment reference.

If AA doesn't show on the bank statement, my guess is Sp would be a combination of state pension and attendance allowance,

Higher rate AA is £89.6 pw

OP - How much is the PC ?

PC would top up her pension income to (including AA):
    PC basic                                  £177.1
    PC Severe disability element    £67.3
    AA  Higher rate                          £89.6

    Weekly total   £334

If PC is £55 pw  then  Sp is AA plus state pension.

So, my guess is  -  PC £55 pw
                                 AA  £89.6 pw
                State pension  £189.4 pw

(Assuming higher rate AA and eligibility for the severe disability element of AA)
