Copy of IPA

Options
Dear MSE pals,

I have recently been discharged from bankruptcy and making some changes in my life.  Thanks to all you out there for the help but I have one question regarding the IPA figures.

My interview Went smoothly and was given an IPA I am comfortable with if a little tight. I was given a payment schedule for the collection company but I wasn’t given a breakdown of how they came about my scores. I.e. how much I’m allowed in each category.

Do you know where I could get this from and is it normally something that bankrupts are given?

I could ask the OR but I don’t want to ruffle any feathers

You are not told these. The OR uses the Standard Financial Statement and these figures aren't published.
  • Not even my own IPA? Agreed with the OR?
  • If the OR thought you were taking the P with your figures (i.e. claiming you needed £300 a month for council tax in a Band A property) this would have been raised with you at the time. If this didnt happen then the figures you provided for what you needed to live on would have been within the acceptable levels.
  • I guess if I reassess then I will just have to see what happens after that
  • You cant just choose to "reassess", something would have to trigger it (such as loss of employment, a promotion resulting in a greater salary etc)
  • Thanks Emma, happy with my IPA. Just concerned on reassess that I’ll have to do in 1 month as I go up £100 at work due to promotion, that they will take more than £100 due to another OR reviewing it. Is that possible?

Don't forget the forthcoming increase in gas / electric costs and rise in NI. I imagine a lot of people will be needing to review their IPA payments downwards very soon.
