Paper forms from HMRC?

Hi, I have been trying to claim Marriage Allowance and will also need to complete Self Assessment for this tax year. Unfortunately despite being at the same address for 18 years I cannot do this online. I do not have a valid passport or phone contract so my ID is not accepted. I have phoned them (several times) and get fobbed off to try something else - Digidentity on one occasion. Can I get the correct form sent to me? How would I go about this? Thanks

You can't "claim" Marriage Allowance.

Do you mean you wish to apply and have a lower Personal Allowance?  Or are you going to be the recipient getting the tax credit?

If you cannot apply online, you can apply for Marriage Allowance:

• through Self Assessment if you’re already registered and send tax returns
• by writing to HMRC

I have never seen or heard of a paper form to apply for Marriage Allowance.

The person claiming TRANSFER of Marriage Allowance loses10% of their personal allowance . Do you wish to reduce your personal allowance or do you want your partner to transfer the allowance to you? if so your partner is the one who makes the claim  to transfer.
