Wembley Stadium gigs - Tube/train options

Hi, I bought my wife tickets to a Coldplay gig at Wembley for Christmas, and booked us into a hotel near Euston station.  I was assuming there would be public transport options from Euston/Kings Cross, and Wembley's own website encourages use of public transport to get there.

However now I've had more of a look I'm not sure what the best options are (Underground? Overground? etc.) and in particular I'm concerned about getting back at the end of the night when there could be tens of thousands of people pouring out and queuing for trains.

So I'm looking for a bit of advice - what is the best way to do this, and can we be confident of getting back at the end of the evening?

Thanks in advance

The tubes will be running.  It's quite possible that the concert has a cut-off time of 22:00 or less.  Personally (having been carried down the steps in a heaving crowd) I would stand back and wait for (semi) normality to return.  We no longer live in NW London, but would (now) check in to the Travelodge within walking distance and enjoy an Ace Cafe breakfast the next morning.

  • Wembley central (bakerloo line) then tube to Oxford Circus then Victoria line to Euston
Wembley central would probably less busy than Wembley Park which most people will head for

Surely the OP can get a London Overground train direct from Wembley Central to Euston?
Takes about half an hour. Last train about five minutes to midnight.
    Current timetable here.

Thanks.  What time does the tube run until?  Are they likely to put on extra trains when there is a big event at Wembley?

If you have driven into London then think about driving there.

Where is the place people are unlikely to have parked - the Wembley tube station. People will be typically going to Wembley, not parking and going elsewhere.

Parked there for an England Match before!

Chiltern normally puts on extra trains (or have more trains calling at Wembley Stadium Station itself).  At Marylebone, it's a short walk to Baker Street where you can catch a Met/Circle line towards Euston Square.

Most concert goers will head towards Wembley Park (Met & Jubilee Line), so my suggestion is to walk towards Wembley Central for an Overground train to Euston.  Assuming you are able to walk the ~ half a mile.

Wembley Park to Euston Square is direct on the Metropolitan Line.
