When to apply for a mortgage?

Hi everyone!
We have made an offer on a property… it’s fantastic and we have our fingers and toes crossed.
We have our decision in principle but should our offer be accepted when should we put our application in?
The reason I ask is that the sellers are looking to buy a new build which isn’t completing until July. Do we apply straight away and look to extend the offer or hold off until later to apply?
thanks for any advice!

I would leave it until April time as offers usually have a time limit they have to be completed by. I think mine was 3 months from the day we received our offer.0

I agree with the above. Although, mortgage extensions are very popular, especially with a new build involved if you wanted to apply now and put your mind at rest.

Well, our offer was accepted as of today so our broker is going ahead with the full application. The stress is something else haha0

2 years ago this month I was in the same boat. Buying is very stressful. It’s the not knowing where the solicitor’s are at that the worse thing.
