Hi,
Would anyone mind commenting of a battery quote I've received? £3850 for Sofar charge controller and 2 X 2.4GWh pilontec batteries to be added to an existing Solar Edge PV system. I'm hoping to integrate it with a zappi charger too so any comments on any possible pitfalls will be gratefully received.
TIA.

As far as the quote goes, it's not too bad. You're getting £3000-worth of hardware plus installation.I can't comment on Zappi or SolarEdge aspects.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.

I'd say the opposite actually, you are getting a sofar, which is old tech these days, Lux is better and they are the same price of around £750.
Batteries these days are around £800 so £1600 for your two 2.4Kwh pylontech batteries and so £2350 in kit.
Add another day £50 for isolators and wiring puts you at £2400, say a couple of hours of a sparks time and I still put you at no more than£2700.
If you wanted to add £150 to your price you could have an extra 2 batteries

Though obviously that wouldn't be fitted.
The zappi can have a 3rd ct clamp fitted to monitor batteries.
I'm not 100% on how well it works, but thats what I plan on doing when I finally get my supply unlooped and car get the zappi installed.West central Scotland

That's very similar to the quote I've had for a Givenergy 8.2kWh (usable, it's actually over 10kWh with 80% dod). Seems very high for less than half of the capacity.1
