Filling Dropped Out Again - What Are My Options?

Several months ago I had a filling at the back of my front tooth fall out, I rang the dentist at the time and they couldn't fit me in and, as I wasn't in pain, I waited until my check up appointment a couple of weeks ago where the dentist refilled it (with one of those light things).
Unfortunately part of the filling has dropped out again this evening, again it's causing me no pain or sensitivity and I don't envisage it will. I will ring my dentist tomorrow to try and get another appointment for it to be refilled but is this worthwhile as I expect I will have to wait several weeks/months for the next available appointment and if it keeps dropping out every few weeks I'll be back and forwards a lot.  What other options are there, I don't know much about crowns or anything so any help you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Refilling the tooth will, usually, be much less traumatic to the tooth that an alternative treatment like crowning, which will require even more tooth substance to be drilled away.

Less damaging options should always be tried before more damaging ones - unless the dentist deems a tooth to be beyond the simpler options.

There are many reasons a filling can fail in the short term. there are a lot of complex processes involved in bonding filling material to a tooth, and a slight oversight on any one of them can lead to an early failure.

As you've said, you need to get an appointment with the dentist again as soon as you can, but be guided by them, as they are the one that can see the problem, and having another go at it generally wouldn't be a bad idea before moving on to an alternative option.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
