in Cutting tax
Hi all,
tax return been filed and am waiting the government gateway to update. I know I need to wait for 72 hours since I uploaded the return for things to update - but am at a bit of a loss what (if anything) to pay.
based on the calculation I owed £5669.60 in tax for the 20/21 tax year.
I paid £5649.50 in through PAYE.
So according to my "view my calculation" I owe £19.60.
However, I have paid £1381.19 on account over the last year for the 20/21 academic year. So I don't think I owe anything - rather I am owed a refund.
So, my question is what do I pay before the deadline this evening?!

Nothing.
Based on the information you have provided each POA for 2020:21 will be reduced to £9.80 and you will have overpaid £1,371.59.
You won't have any POA to pay for 2021:22.That all assumes that the £1,381.19 was fully allocated to POA for 2020:21 and nothing was against other charges (interest etc).
And that you have completed the return correctly 🙂1
