I rent out a property, so do the tax return every year .. going to do it shortly

I realise now that I never actually claimed allowances for the property insurance since renting the property out, so was wondering if I can do so now

Firstly ... is property insurance an allowable expense ?

Secondly, I think I can go back 4 years only .. is that 4 years including the tax year in question, or tax year plus 4 earlier years ?

So I can claim the May 2020 insurance payment .. and I assume the 2019, 2018 and 2017 payments too , all in May

What about 2016 ?

thanks !
