It may depend on exactly which SMETS 1 meter you have.  The ones that EDF were pushing back then were capable of measuring export, but were not calibrated for that, so the readings could not be used.

Thanks, it's an old British Gas meter, once hooked up fully I guess I'll find out then and if it doesn't record then I'll have to investigate how to get it sorted.

@MadAsToast How did you get on with this in the end? I'm having the exact same issue now (E470 SMETS1 with no export reading available).

@mcpete86 apologies just saw your reply. The export reading shows up once exporting started. Also the key was to press and hold the button to show it not just press it quickly, hth
