Text from DRS - scam?

I received a text from a company called DRS yesterday. It was for my dad; I use my mobile number on a couple of websites he's registered to. He's not tech-savvy and does not access these accounts at all. I have the passwords so nothing can happen without me doing it. It says they have sent him an email - his email that I set up has now expired through lack of use and, again, he didn't even know about it or have the password. Do you think it's a scam? It's given me a link to click on and a reference number.

Under debt collection rules, if a creditor wants you to pay them money, they must first write to you.
Emails/texts/phone calls can all be ignored, if they are serious, they will write to him.
Bottom feeder collection agencies use text and email to get you to contact them, simply because its the cheapest way of getting in touch with a lot of people in one go, its likely to be a fishing trip, could be a debtor with similar details to dad, hoping that someone will bite.
Does anything untoward appear on his credit file ?
