Hi there, yes its amazing how the time has flown and they are all grown up now. DD had her eldest boy Ben at Norwich for four years, then the next boy down Jack went to Hertfordshire Uni for three years, then a year later Henry went to Essex ,and he's almost finished his third year (Jack too went into teaching )now the 'baby' of the family Mikey will be off for three years to Essex as well. They all had the opportunity and chance to go and we didn't want them to miss out. Once Mikey is settled we shall all be moving to the IoW to live Dd has got a job she can take with her if needed and my son-in-law also has transferable skills so it will be a new challenge for us all ,hopefully by sometime next year. Give SarahSaver my best regards. Time just flies by ,especially with a large family as DDs eldest daughter Katie is now married and a mother of two little girls herself now. From a bulging family of five at the moment there are only two lads left at home
But she still has her dogs which are her passion

Netflix have sent an email out overnight saying the cost of our plan is rising by £1 per month.
My plans for today once I have deep cleaned the hens and ducks house is to meal plan for all of April. We have around 40 eggs in the bowl this morning and get around 15 per day, so I will be freezing some eggs today xx

Well I feel even more shocked now that my vouchers from Waitrose were £10 off £100 spend! There is the odd thing I can only get there, but it’s very unlikely I could stock up £100 worth of it. I’ll check, but I’d probably have to get 6 months worth!2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Re Masters degree, we were told by the school if you think there is a possibility you might want to do a master then apply for a four year course so the funding goes straight through for four years, you can always finish after three. If you apply for a three year course then the Masters year is self funded/funded in a different way which is more expensive. I'm not sure if this is still the case but might be worth looking intoLove living in a village in the country side7 -
Hi @in_my_wellies (love your user name!)
Simply crack and whisk as if you were doing scrambled eggs. Then portion into small tubs and freeze. I tend to write on the lids how many are in the tub - I tend to freeze in 3s as this is how many I use for a batch of Yorkshire puddings 😊
Just defrost the tub in the fridge overnight and use as you normally would XX

Just watched the news about price rises. There was one person saying to save money they are turning lights off and doing one big wash at the weekend rather than using the washing machine several times a week. This is common sense and I have doing it for years to reduce expenditure.Another person said they would have to reduce trips out. When I was young we hardly went anywhere other than somewhere the family could ride our bikes to or walk to. I recently found my dads diaries and when I was a teenager he wrote "bank balance precarious". In other words we were skint.Seems education and degrees should include the more practical subject of common sense as it is so rare.I think some people are in for a real shock.

Littlemoney. ........"Bank balance precarious". Love it. 😂. Sounds like a very witty man and a master of understatement.I have been thinking a lot about "the situation". Many of us older posters (I'm 70) will have grown up in leaner times (post WW2 austerity) and as adults will have experienced periods of financial difficulties (70s, 80s). We learned how to manage on little, both from our frugal parents and our own experience.Whilst it wont be easy for us we know how to cut back and, as my aunt used to say, "make a penny do the work of 2". We have knowledge, experience and practical skills which will stand us in good stead. I do agree with you, I think some of your younger members of society will be in a for a few shocks.I have a smart meter. I'm watching it like a hawk.11

We've got building work going on which has been very problematic due to unexpected issues with the ground. Yesterday they planned to fill with a lot of concrete, but because of the weather it got delayed until today, when the leccy has gone up. I was panicking about how much extra this was going to cost, on top of all the other costs the issue has caused, but I've just checked and the concrete mixers used 5 units of electric, so not nearly as bad as I'd feared. I just hope the groundworks overspend isn't as bad as I've mentally planned for.

@OrkneyStar I try to wash on days I can put the washing on the line. If the sheets stay a little longer the bed so be it. There's a good strong wind today but frequent snow snowers have made it impossible to think about doing a wash. I didn't want anything damp in the house especially as it was only 12 degrees indoors this morning and damp air feels colder.
