I get interest on my OVO credit balance (5%) for credit balance up to £1000.Not sure if this is available to new customers but at least they do pay you in credit balance situations.

Just a quick post to say I am still around, lurking, reading, hoping all are well, and also trying to remind myself of the things that do make us more fortunate than some (and changing the things that can be changed which make us not so fortunate!). We are all doing our best it seems, but times are hard and I am thankful that sites like this exist for us to share, encourage, debate (respectfully), suggest, laugh, cry and whatever else will get us through these scary times! Take care all.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

It's only the cost per unit on the display that's adrift, btw - everything else is correct. Apparently ...

Correct re 3 years. I have been with OVO for 3 years on x 2 24 month plans. Previously I was with EDF but OVO were cheaper when it came to renew .
After the 1st 24 month plan was over I did a compare & OVO was as cheap as others plus gave interest @ 3% on credit balances so I stuck with them. I run in credit in the summer which I gain interest on. The current plan finishes in 11 months so will look at best deal just before then.
I do not have a smart meter - I read my meters daily - takes less than a minute. I did have an OWL monitor but it died & I have not bothered to replace. This works for me .8 -

SC utilised today for a vat of corned beef hash - some for tonight and two for the freezer to add to the hm ready meals stash.
I've also got bread crusts soaking for hm sage & onion stuffing mix that I'll freeze in portions and then pop in the oven when it's on sometime. Always useful as an extra plate filler or in sandwiches.Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Jackie O for posting about getting a reduction on your water rates when you are on a low income. I rang Anglian water yesterday and after answering a couple of quick questions they have put me on a lower tarriff and also backdated it to April. So I now have a 50% on my water rates and also a small refund.. Hope this helps someone else. You do need to have to have a water meter but i had one already.

We are setting up the harvest display at SA ready for Sunday but not sure if we will get enough donations to fill the baskets. An idea is to have some empty baskets to reflect the current situation for people.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I went to my local waitrose for milk yesterday and was given a voucher for£4 off a £40 spend with my receipt. It was gratefully received by a young couple with children who were on their way in as I was coming out. They never give you a £1 off a £10 voucher although I don't spend that much either as I can't carry it and I don't drive.14

I was put on a low usage tarriff once a few years back when they couldn't fit a meter at the property I lived in at the time, but this tariff I've just been put on is for people on a low income. But if Jackie hadn't mentioned it i wouldn't have known anything about it.7
