Prom dress

Daughter has her prom coming up and now her only focus is getting a dress.
We're quite rural (Lincolnshire) but will travel.
Any recommended shops? Any that will rent and send out to try on?
An expense we can do without, but want to get her something nice.
Any help please?

Once she's established her budget, she'll be able to identify her options.
She can spend anything from a few quid at Boohoo to several thousand.

Monsoon or Next? You can have a look on line to see if anything grabs your fancy before travelling.1

Probably looking at something at max £200, but open to renting too.
Just no idea where to go or where she won't end up with the same dress as others.
A crappy American thing and not very MSE, but we're happy to give her as best a night as we can0 -
If she's prepared to I'd start looking at eBay and vinted. You can get some very beautiful things, it's unlikely to be whatever anyone else has, and of course they can be altered to get the perfect fit.
That kind of thing is often available either with tags because of a cancelled event, or having only been worn a couple of times.

But do watch out for made new to measure dresses that are too good to be true...

A lot of boutiques that sell prom dresses only have limited stock and take a note of what school child attends so there isn't 2 turning up in the same gown. That's what happened when I bought daughters. Hers did only cost £200 but that's because it was Easter and reduced from almost £600 as she had a last minute invite (problems with bullying meant she moved schools in yr11) we were just lucky it was lovely as there was limited stock by then.
However she's worn it just the once and since then (she's 19 next month) has said that she'd wished she'd stuck to her original plan of having a cheaper dress and an expensive pair of heels because there's been plenty of occassions since where she'd have worn the shoes.
Other places you can look - TK Maxx, some stores/locations have better stock than others or since proms have pretty much not been happening or drastically reduced for the past 2 years I'd have a look at private sellers.1 -
I've bought 3 Prom dresses in the last 6 months from ebay! Around £20 each and all are fab! I only bought UK dresses, you tick the box.
Loads are ;as new' as so many people did not go to prom last year! So you can pick up a bargin.
I have 3 for next year, so she can decide which is best then. She is also a runner so slim and will have the lenght altered closer to the time (we are short) and then sell them all back on ebay again......so won't cost me much.
We will buy the heel and bag closer to the time.
You should also checkout Marketplace on facebook.
Hope this helps!1
