Car Stereo/CD Fitting

After a hefty bump to my sons car, it went on it's final journey to the big car park in the sky. Before they came to collect it, son asked me to check if there was anything left in it and in true moneysaving style I decided to remove his Clarion CD player/radio. I only have a cheapy factory fitted radio cassette and decided this might make a nice addition to my car.
Although this was in his car when he bought it, he doesn't have any paperwork with it. It came out with ease and I just cut the wires off from the car side of the connector box.
Can anyone tell me:
a) how much is this likely to cost me to get fitted in my car?
b) am I going to need a code or similar to get it to work?
c) where can I get a code as we don't have one already?
d) is it worth doing?
I'd be grateful for any help.

Aftermarket stereos don't usually have codes needed.
I know some Clarions used to be standard fit in Peugeots though and they do require a code.
The face-off security is usually what they come with unless high end stereo.
Should cost about £20 labour and then extra for adapters if required, wire harness, facia plate.
Not all car wiring is the same so adapters are needed and cars like my KA and Focus need adapters to the dashboard to make a standard size hole.
Aftermarket models usually produce better sound and have more features.
Upgrading to CD is a bonus as well for you.

Hi all ive just received a Cd/mp3 player head unit from my girlfriend

and i was wondering where i could get this installed ?
i still have the Renault manufacturers radio in my Megane so ive ordered a facia plate to allow me to install a after market radio , but i am not sure if i will need anything else ? some website's mention something about needing a Arial converter ???
any assistance anyone can provide on this would be appreciated0 -
Some cars have non standard aerial connectors that need a adaptor, I know my KA does. The adapter will look like a hifi jack connector for changing large headphone sockets to 3.5mm smaller ones.
My best advice is to search for an owners club forum
This is the Megane Coupe club https://www.coupe-club.co.uk.
The question will have been asked many times and the responses should be valid for all Megane saloon, hatchback, coupe, convertable and early megane scenics.
If you want someone to do it for you a local carradio installer will be able to do it easy but would prefer you to buy the facia plate and any other adapters from them.

I've just had a quick look on Renaultforums.co.uk and the question has been asked before.
You will also need adapters for the steering wheel controls and dashboard display (subject to a compatible cd player).
