Pine bed frame. How to jazz it up

Hi all

We've moved house and along with us came our pine super king bed frame which we bought second hand 20 years ago. We love it. We have two single beds on it and it is the most comfortable bed ever. It's very tired but I just can't get rid of it. The headboard is inbuilt and the colour is a not so nice orangey pine. It's a curved headboard.

the rest of the pine I can hide with bedding etc, but as we are decorating our bedroom, I wondered how I could improve the look of the headboard.

ive looked at those coverslip things you can put over, but it's not a rectangular frame. I've also thought about painting it but honestly my artistic talent is about the same as giving my cat a paintbrush.

any ideas?

This is clearly a much-loved possession, so why not have it professionally paint sprayed to give it a new lease of life?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
