Can't contact executor

Good morning folks.

I have made ppi claims on behalf of my deceased Mother and I am having trouble with Santander.

My mother died in December 2017 and as her only child I was the main beneficiary.

I have claims being looked at by Lloyd's and Santander, both have identified possible accounts(3 & 2 respectively).

After many months of explaining I cannot contact the executor and being told they won't discuss matters with me, Lloyd's finally sent me a form that I have to fill in.

This form is for those that cannot supply a Grant of Representation and/or contact the person who has it.

This basically gives the bank the right to talk to me and that I accept responsibility for any out of pocket expenses/losses should the bank incur.

It basically a solves them of any possible come back etc.

Now my problem, Santander say they know nothing about such practices so I've hit a brick wall.

My argument is "what if the executor dies"? Does this mean all claims are declined because they won't discuss with anyone?

Can anyone shine a light on this matter or point me in the right direction, please.

I'm at the end of my tether here.

Many thanks for reading.

Dave

Do you know who/where the executor is?
What’s the reason you can’t contact them?
There’s a bit of a difference between can’t contact because I have no idea who they are or if they are still alive, or I know who they are but we’re not on speaking terms.

Is the form Lloyds sent you specific to them?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I know the executor but I have no contact details since he moved.

The form I received is from Lloyd's and has 3 reference numbers which I assume is 3 possible  PPI's.
  • If an executor dies before they can complete probate and no other executors the named in the will then it would normally become their executors duty to finish off winding up the estate.

Has this person actually started winding up the estate or have they been untraceable from the beginning.  If the later then you should be able to take over the administration under the non-contentious probate rules.
