Anyone know when Halfords have a sale?

Not sure if this should be here on on the 'I wanna' board so mods please move if required.

I had my bike stolen last week and have claimed on the insurance and been given a voucher for a replacement from Halfords which is valid up until 5th October.

Just wondered if there were any Halfords workers out there who might know when and if a sale was coming up as thought I could get a better bike for the money in the sale?

Hasn't their latest sale just finished in the last week or so?

If so, there will undoubtedly be one in a month or so!

What's your voucher worth? Might you be better flogging the voucher on eBay (if the t's and c's allow) and buying a bike from somewhere that sells better ones for less money?

Halfords website has some clearance bikes for £60-£100 at the moment. They are there own brand Apollo ones.

I'm happy with the voucher as it's for £850, not really in the market for the £100 Apollos

I was suprised Halfords stocked such high end models but still wouldn't mind a better bike in the sale, voucher is personal to me as it's a insurance replacement and so can't be sold/given away

I wouldn't have an Apollo if you gave me one!

Unlikely that £850ish bikes would be in a Sale at Halfords as they are undoubtedly only in their catalogue for special order, unless you visit a very large branch.

the thing is langers, halfords put sale's on bikes quite often, but they hardly tend on bikes at the high end of the price, like the one your looking for.

if it helps, i think i remember one of there staff telling me that all of there offers/sales changed last week, so by the time the next promotion comes up, it'll be a good month or so.

if in doubt, pop into your local largest store who carry the biggest bike range and ask them.

To be honest having spent a good 3 hours trying to deal with the numptys at Halfords today I'd rather gouge my eyes out with rusty teaspoons than give them any business.

You'd think I wanted them to give me money they were so difficult and I'm trying to spend £850!!

They flatly refused to let me try any bikes as they were too expensive and so they didn't stock them and wouldn't order any in for me to have a look at.

In the end they were so useless I complained to my insurance company and they agreed and told me to go and buy my own bike and they'd pay instead of me having to use the voucher!!

Yeah I have to admit I was very surprised but also really impressed that the insurance company was so good about it
