Why does waiting until 55 increase the chances of acceptance?Pablo7474 said:At the moment I see no chance of getting a positive recommendation. If you wait until 55+ there is more chance but still pretty low.You have a good mix of DB and DC, you should see the benefits in this..0 -
When I last spoke to my PI insurance broker, he said there were only 3 insurers offering cover for DB pensions. And two of those had age 55 as the minimum. i.e. if you are under 55, the IFA cannot do it as they would not be covered by the PI insurance.Miiade said:

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.2 -

If I was 55, do you think I would have a decent chance of getting a positive recommendation, based on my circumstances.0 -

Thanks for all the comments.
I will look into this again at 55/56 and see what the cetv values are then.
If favourable I will consider trying for a transfer on the slim chance it may get approved.0 -
Having a secure base income in retirement is worth having. Been exposed to the whims of the stock markets may lead to sleepness nights. Over the past 12 years stock markets returns have been exceptional, though with the benefit of hindsight now not unsurprising. Don't be lulled into thinking that was the norm. Waiting and allowing events to unfold is advisable.Miiade said:Thanks for all the comments.
