Calling the Republic from Northern Ireland

Does a call from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland count as an international call ?
My contract will soon be up and i’m looking for one that will let me call the Republic of Ireland FROM Nothern Ireland. It would be helpful if I could also call the other way around i.e RoI to NI. I have my own phone.
i would be looking for. unlimited calls/texts. The contract time will not be a major issue.
Any recommendations ?

yes its an international call.
However you can install a cheap international calling app such as 'Yolla'.
You just need small amount of data to call a Eire mobile or landline
many people on eire mobiles have 'whatsapp' so just use that free0 -
Is it landline or mobile you are after?BT Landline for example considers calls from NI to ROI landlines as local/national calls that come out of your allowance. If it is for Mobile:Vodafone provides an add on called "Ireland Plus" for £5 a month that will ensure any calls and messages to ROI numbers are coming out of your montly allowance.Three provides an international "Call Abroad Unlimited" for £10 a month that will give you unlimited minutes to 55 countries, incl. Ireland.

Someone I know in Ni who regularly goes to the south, and has family/friends there, eventually got himself two phones. Maybe look at dual sim phones where you can put a ROI sim and a UK sim in it.1

It is a mobile. The Vodafone £5 bolt on. Am I correct in assuming that all international calls are taken from that and let’s say you use £4 does that mean they only take £1. In this case two SIM cards would not really be worth the hassle.
Thanks for your answers

Look at Lebara - 3GB + unlimited UK calls/texts + 100 international minutes for £4.90 per month. Many more data options up to 21GB for £9.95 & unlimited for £25.
6GB + 500 international minutes £10
15GB + unlimited int. minutes £15
Unlimited everything £25
There must be something there for you.
Many of the offers via MSE, some via Uswitch.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!1 -
Not worth the bother. I’m down south a couple of days a week and I used to have two mobiles. Now I’ve just got the southern one and use what’s app as much as possible.emmajones1976 said:Someone I know in Ni who regularly goes to the south, and has family/friends there, eventually got himself two phones.
