Successful Claim for Council Tax reduction

Having read Martins article on the Moneysavingexpert website recently, regarding Council tax reductions. I entered my financial details into the available calculator & the result was, that we should be eligible for a discount. Wife and I both retired, so any savings are a help. Went on West Devon council website & completed the claims process. 5 weeks later & have now been informed by council that we’re entitled to a reduction which equates to 12.75% a year. I wanted it backdated; but of course they won’t play that game. It’s only valid back to when you make the claim. Still we’re really pleased & whilst all other bills are increasing, this is a help. Thank you Martin & team for great advice.
