In agony. Tooth erupted about an inch below the tooth line.
Dentist given me more antibiotics even though he thinks im resistant.

Told me I’m beyond standard dentistry. I had to push for where that left me… wait on nhs for 6 months plus..no.

wait for 6 weeks for just an assessment privately.. no

I asked for a referral and was told they don’t usually do that but he would ask my allocated dentist to note something down.
bupa don’t have availability for a month.

one other surgery might be able to help but want a copy of my X-ray which I’m going to struggle with getting.

feel stuck when I can’t even get help privately.

Where do I go from here?

To have a digital copy of your x Ray sent to another practice just send a request in writing and your practice can email a copy to the other practice , providing they have digital X-rays. Should be done quite quickly.

Thanks Jack. I emailed asking them to send it to me. Not sure if they will do that?

I will follow up with a phone call tomo with the other surgeries email address to hand.

You have a legal right to a copy of all information they hold about you including X-rays.

I got the X-ray and it’s appalling. It only shows half the damn tooth!

If the wisdom tooth is very low down it can be impossible to get all of it on an intra oral (inside the mouth) x Ray.
For a full view you may need to get an opg x Ray which is a machine that takes an image of the whole of the jaws.

That’s what my private consultant has asked for but my dentist doesn’t have the machine so trying to sort that through another dental practise.

I literally spent 4 hours on the phone going back and forth this morning.

I’m booked for an emergency assessment at a local dentist next week who might be able to fit me surgically next week.

im booked with a bupa consultant should the above not be able to fit me in or say I need ga.

Then a private practise a few towns over can remove it a few weeks later if need be. Booked so I don’t risk losing the appt and have to wait 6 weeks.

All 3 are aware of multiple bookings and have given me cancellation timelines.

I will get this out if it kills me….. then root canal due end of Feb. Yay! 😡
