I'm trying to enter the amount of mortgage interest I pay on a rental property, but there is no Box 44 on the form.
It jumps from 43 - Residential property finance costs to Unused residential property finance costs brought forward and on the next page, Box 45 - Any other information
Where is Box 44? It's driving me nuts! Can anyone help please?
I've tried entering in Box 43, but get an error:

That message would indicate you have claimed the Property Allowance of £1000. in box 20.1daft_k said:Didn't mean to hide that error - it might mean something relevant:There is a problem
This allowance is instead of claiming any other expenses so you cannot claim mortgage interest as well. Hence the box has been offered on your tax return.
If you read the notes provided it is explained there
